Yesterday I found myself headed south on the Old Island Highway at 5:15 PM, what was I thinking!!!
When I got to the intersection of theO.L.H. and Hilchey the light had just turned RED and there were several (count 'em serveral) cars ahead of me.
Any of you who have been at this intersection can appreciate the dilema I was in, the afternoon sun was glimmering over the Straits and the Coastal Mountains were standing so majestically in the distance. The fresh salt air was deafening.
While I sat there 6 bald eagles soared and played at tree top diving and screeching as they played.
The light FINALLY turned Green but of course I was to caught up in the moment to proceed and in typical island fashion the lady behind me was too polite to honk, so we had to wait a through another enter RED light.
Oh, life can get so hairied at 5:15 PM.
